Well, Maja Blanca is definitely an all time Filipino dessert! It is almost always present in a typical Filipino menu whenever there are parties, fiestas and of course Christmas!
So here's how to cook one! ;)
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups coconut milk ( 2 cans)
- 1 1/2 cups cornstarch
- 1 can condensed milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 can sweet corn kernel
- 3 1/4 cups milk
- grated cheese (for toppings)
PROCEDURES:
1. Combine condensed milk, sweet corn kernel, sugar, coconut milk in a pot and bring to a boil. (Make sure you're using a medium heat :) ) Stir to evenly distribute the ingredients.
2. Using a bowl, combine milk and cornstarch. Stir it.
3. Pour the milk and cornstarch mixture into the coconut milk and continue to stir and watch for the mixture to thicken. You can add more cornstarch until the mixture reaches your desired thickness. The mixture should thicken like a glue.
4. Pour the mixture in a serving tray and flatten the top and put the toppings on.
5. Put it inside the refrigerator.
6. Serve cold! Enjoy =))
